Wonder if anyone can help with volume? Is there an app that can boost it?

I don't know of any apps that will do that, at least not well.

You can either flash the update easily (doesn't require rooting or anything), or trick the phone into doing the update normally, but this has some side effects apparently.

For what it's worth, you're best off just installing the latest update.

I just had a look at this and amazingly, if you scroll through all the camera settings (so you go camera > video camera > panoramic > photosphere) and then back again in the reverse order, it seems to correct itself.

Flipping between the camera and video for me now brings up no changes in terms of darkness.
 
Press the dialer, then when you press the square to load keypad, nothing appears but a blank box, you have to cancel then press again to load touch pad.
 
I think I have to RMA mine. Delightfully it was delivered one day before it was due to dispatch (no email; it just appeared). The motor on mine is loud to the point where you can't hear the key click sound when typing. Is that normal?

I don't have that on 4.4.2, although to be fair I've never noticed that happen before it either.
 
Just picked up one of these and boy its confusing coming from an iphone! im sure it will make sense quickly. definitely not as intuitive.

Whats a good all round email app? i have several gmail accounts and also a work exchange account which on my iphone picks up all my conctacts from there. Can i do that on Android?

Loving the phone and the screen though. Made my iphone 4 feel old and very slow and outdated after i put the nexus 5 down

Use the default Email app that comes with it.

See, this is why there is an iPhone market :) I'm sure you will pick up Android soon.

seriously who is going to do all that before shooting a video? i mean the moment will have been ruined or over by then

Good move switching back to N5 Mate I guess you've retired the G2 for now?

Am also thinking of flashing the Cataclysm ROM as I've heard good things about it. Be really interested on your thoughts once you've installed it.
