My Nexus 5X just turned itself off last night. It will not charge or power on at all now. I've tried various fixes to try and power it up but nothing works so is this the bootloop issue even though it will not boot? The only thing that showed up was the white Google logo after holding the power button for about a minute but then it goes off after about 10 seconds.

I know that it's an issue with the phone and that people are getting refunds/repairs. However, I bought the phone though MM here just under 2 years ago so I assume that the seller would have to initiate this as I think they bought it from Amazon.

All my stuff gets backed up daily so not too bothered about losing anything. Hardest thing for me will be to remember which apps I had installed :)

Same here. If you need to get stuff off it, put it in the freezer for a while - Worked for me.

How long did you leave it in there for? Photos and SMS are backed up but I need to check what's on my google authenticator and I think I've got my WoW and SWTOR apps on there which need de-authorising. It can be done without getting in but more of a pain.

It's 3 weeks out of warranty and LG want £169 to repair it so I know where they can put the phone :)

I contacted the seller and he got in touch with Amazon. They fobbed him off though as the phone's a couple of weeks outside it's warranty, not sure there's anything I can do at my end as I didn't order it.

Yea I think after 2 years, you are probably out of luck. Just don't ever buy anything made by LG again, I won't.

The seller tried his luck again and this time Amazon agreed to have it sent for repair. Sent it off today so will wait and see what comes back. I won't be buying from LG again though that's for sure.
