Nexus 6P microphone not working

Hi guys,

Bought a 6p from carphone warehouse about 6 weeks ago, just today for some reason my microphone appears to have stopped working completely. No one can hear me on calls and using a spectrum analyser app nothing is picked up when I speak/whistle into it.

Carphone warehouse have said they can send it off but it will take 4 weeks to be repaired?!

Is there a better way I can get it fixed quicker?

bit of a long shot but you're not covering up the tiny little hole directly above the finger print reader are you? covering that up is known to cause mic issues
 
They need to replace it/repair it as it's not been provided in a working condition (6 weeks of use for that is not 'working').

Push for a replacement as you can't do without your device for their quoted repair time. If they insist on repair, return it for a full refund.

Yep, exactly this. If they don't play ball, quote them the new consumer rights act that basically says you're entitled to a refund if a repair is significantly inconvenient.http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-rights-act
 
Thanks for the replies, I tried saying that to them but they insisted on the '28 days' rubbish and it has to go back to Huawei for repair. Not sure how best to push the 6 weeks thing...

I've spoken to Huawei and they are sending me a packing bag either tomorrow or the day after and they will take it for repair/replacement and the guy on the phone (who was immediately more helpful than the 4 guys I spoke to in CW) said it shouldn't take longer than 6 days max...
 
Well I sent it off to Huawei on Friday and its just come back today with a replacement main board.

Very impressed by their service, might go have a moan at CW to ask why on earth theirs would have taken 4 weeks if they're sending to the same place.....
