Nexus 7 as a digital photo frame - Case and app request

Hello,

My father is considering purchasing a digital photo frame for my mother for Christmas. I have suggested that because of the poor resolution of the digital photo frames I have found (and the price of some of the better ones) he would be better off purchasing a tablet for her (with the Nexus 7 in mind). It should be more than up to the job and offer her much more flexibility besides.

So; can you help recommend:

1) A case which can be used to protect the tablet when carried but that can be (somehow) used to stand the tablet landscape (such as when it is used as a digital photo frame).

2) A digital photo frame app that I can pre-load for Christmas day.

Thank you! :)

Just use the Android 4.2 daydreams feature, no need for an app.

Yep.

As for a case, there's quite a few that will stand it in landscape mode fine. Personally I would prefer the official stand as it would charge it too, but they won't release the dam thing

Thanks for the app recommendations.

Can you link to any of them? I am sure I could find them but I would rather ensure I get a known good one. Price, within reason, is not a restriction but something that looks nice and offers good protection whilst still being sturdy (as best possible) in landscape mode is important. I would rather avoid trial and error and get one that does the job so that on Christmas day there are no issues.

Thank you! :)

Anybody? Was about to place the order from Amazon for a Poetic slimline portfolio case. It was fulfilled by Amazon and £19.95 (free postage). Now only in stock direct from Poetic with an extra £4.99 delivery and based on the reviews delivery from Poetic takes some considerable time. Not an option!

Help! :)
