Nexus release a full tower case - EDGE

Some nice features, and looks like theres plenty of cooling for the hard drives!! Still unsure though, would probably go for a full tower Lian Li over that... but still looks intresting

Nice features as Ducky said, liking the 2 rear fan exhausts!

However looks a bit to plain for me on the outside :(

yes me too, but this case oozes quality...(just like the Lian), this case is a good alternative to an Antec.

Well, well, well... Modified NZXT Whisper with little extra height!
Looks good on surface but...

Top fan is positioned too much forward from CPU, but I guess with that solid front mesh of optional 12cm rear fan is only way to get air for CPU cooler with fan blowing forward.
Expansion card area would also need airflow and only way for that would be using 3x5.25" intake fan device... Whose airflow then just gets mostly sucked out by rear 14cm exhaust in compartment's bottom without cooling that much and upper area has airflow going to other direction... right.
Sense it doesn't make!

Maybe adding that 12cm rear exhaust and turning top exhaust around as intake... but that is probably restricted be cheap stamped mesh and then some equally cheap plastic mesh which probably couldn't even keep dust out.

Most sense making airflow would be adding two intake fans into 5.25" bays but then we're down to two usable bays.

looks like theres plenty of cooling for the hard drives!!
Front cage construction isn't the most airflow friendly and looks much like those bay covers are solid meaning that front intake fan doesn't do anything. Also airflow goes through path of lowest impedance unless forced otherwise so HDDs in "hanged" racks won't have much airflow, at least with cables going to upper chamber between cages.

yes, the cooling dosn't look right to me, that lower tray running right across looks wrong.....plus, i'm very suspicious of its intake:(

``in lower front and out upper rear``... this is the most effective way .... free flow, with nothing blocking its way

they put the hard drives by the back, since there is no air passing by them also wouldn't the heat from the psu rise up to the hard drives?

You can fit intake fans into the base, but above HD you have that horizontal panel and below HD you have PSU, no the PSU ventilates outside...that's ok, it's the lack of ventilation for the hard drives above that bothers me....i see no free flow of air going past them, or any way for hot air to rise up away from them.....and you've yet to fit the cables, restricting air flow even more!

i read that detailed report weeks ago and i'll never forget it.......``front bottom in.........back rear exhaust``...with no fans in the side panel or in the roof, this works best. ...the best set up is, 2 intake fans on the base of the front panel ( e.g antec 300) and 2 exhaust fans on the top rear back

lets look at the cooling for the MOBO above.........i see no intake!...only exhaust..... i only see an intake for CPU, this is no good, the CPU should never have a ``small `` side panel fan intake, this will overheat the rest of the MOBO ...one of these lower fans needs to switched to intake................oh forget it, enough said... no point thinking about it any more ......dont touch this case with a 10ft barge pole!

Forgot that it won't work:
Door is solid without any airflow holes so there's no way to actually use front as intake without keeping door open all the time.
Only way to get someking airflow into main chamber would be using rear fans as intake with top as exhaust.

And those 5.25" rails are pain in the neck with short devices like fan controllers...
Geeze, Nexus is really wanting to compete with Thermalcrap.

The intake fans can be seen in the pic below.

It's a 140mm one at the front of the bottom bay.

yes, but with the door closed it wont get any air...plus the HDD trays/PSU have virtually no ventilation whatsoever....unless you use those optional base fans..it's all very dodgy

as for the MOBO.....well, similar story

With no way for that fan to get air into the motherboard compartment. That's a very poor design in my opinion.

yes..... that design disaster would get you the sack in most companies, more importantly, all your colleagues would notice it at an early stage..while it was still on AutoCAD, awaiting to be approved by your boss.......unless it's a one man outfit, it probably is..... we might be missing something, but i doubt it..

they've got quite a nice website....very slick and a fair bit of stuff...most odd, This thread is very interesting, i keep retuning to it.
