Hi all, i have an nf7-s and an xp 2500. I bought this combination some time ago for the purpose of over clocking them.

Any time i try and make the slightest change in the bios, either changing the multiplier or switching it straight to 3200, after 5 mins of running i get a dual alarm sound and the power switched off.

i believe this alarm to be a temp alarm but i'm cooling the cpu with a Jet 7 coolermaster and arctic silver compound.

Any suggestion?

The 2 tone alarm is the dreaded temp alarm on the Nf7-s board - bane of many of our lives. Sometimes it really is a temp thing - check the temps with mbm or something similar and let us know what it comes back with.

It can be a bit random - often when you start up it'll sometimes just go off  Have a dig about Here

Awesome resource for the old-skool fun of Socket A's (rest their silicon!)

That an XP-M or the standard Barton/Thoroughbred B? Guessing an XP-M since you can move the multi. If it is then that OC shouldn't be a problem, and you may just need to re-seat the HSF (with a *small* blob of Arctic silver 5 -1/2 uncooked grain of rice size!)

If not then that's an almighty overclock! Give us the full spec and bios settings and might be able to shed a little more light ;)
