Hi
I think i have some RAM issues on my old pc. It is an ABIT NF7-S v2.

I currently have 1 stick of 512 PC3200 in there (there was 2 but one does not work anymore).

Someone gave me 2 sticks of 2gb PC3200 but i dont think it can handle it as it just beeps and beeps and beeps on me so i think the motherboard does not like it that size.

Someone else has just given me some PC100, will this work or am i going to have to buy another 512 PC3200. I think that the PC100 is 128mb but not sure.

Anyone know if the 2gb is too much and whether PC100 will work in this motherboard?

the mobo is ddr ram, pc100 wont workin in it. also according to google the limit of the board is 3gb so 2 sticks of 2gb wont work either, so try 1 stick of the 2gb ram and see if that works.

had a look on the abit site and they say it has 3 memory slots for a maximum of 3gb, so fair chance it doesnt like the 2gb sticks.

given how choosey the board is, even for 512mb sticks, id say your chances are slim. try raising the mcp voltage to the upper limit (1.7v) and ram voltage to ~2.9v, see if that helps.

also check and make sure they are DDR 1 sticks, and not DDR2. also check and see if they are ecc/registered - im not very confident that the board will take ecc reg.
you can always run 3*512 sticks if you buy a new pair of 512's since the dual channel mode doesnt really add anything
