hi all. the stock cooler on my nf7-s v2 board is a bit on the whiny side. so i tried to fit a nb-1 cooler onto it but it would not fit because the board the big typhoon mounted on it and the heat pipes interfere with the installation of the nb-1.

was wondering is there any other cooler that will with alongside the big typhoon? need to quieten this board up a bit.

I've litrally taken the fan off leaving just the heatsink sat there. Because its getting airflow from the cpu (albeit on the warm ish side) its stays at a sensible temperature. (thats at 200fsb 1.5v - I think)

The Vantec one on ocuk should fit fine though but then you get another whirry fan :)

I also used a Vantec from OCUK on my NF7S.

Dont know abotu whirly sound cos I found them to be perfect, and silent.

So much so, that I have been using those on all my mobos and so far, not one of them have made any sound at all?

I have 8 Boards with those on, and I am soon to be buying a bunch more.

bah, i still can;t fit anything else reasonable on the northbridge. the big typhoon heatpipes just get in the way.
must be something silent and yet skinny enough to fit.

Ok, so the Vantec one is too big?

Its the same size as the stock one!

Maybe you should ditch the CPU cooler then?

On my NF7S Mobos, I am using the Vantec NB coolers.

Both Mobos are using just SK7 or SLK700 or whatever they are?

get a Jing Ting 0006, fits sweet if you have mounting holes and it can be twisted to suit what ever way you need it to
