I have both these boards or should I say I have the msi delta as i have let my dad use the abit and a Barton 2500+ cpu.

Is the MSI a capable O'C board and could I stretch as far with the 2500 in that as I could with the Abit? Never did overclock with these boards. :)

NF7S-v2.0 is the one to go for if you are onverclocking. Make sure you have on of Tic Tacs modded bios's, the D26 Mantaray or something like that.

Of course he wont.

However... I have the NF7S, and I used to also have the K7N2 Delta ( The Red Mobo ) and they both clock like hell. The MSI has taken my XP1700 to 2.9Ghz, the NF7 ( not S ) took it over 3Ghz, and the NF7S I have had the very same 2.9... In fact, the NF7S I still got and it can take the Barton 2500 to 2.9 FFS!

As you have never clocked any of them before, I will be honest here, but you will not really see all that much difference in swapping them over, so dont worry too much about which one you are going to clock with.

If its a choice, its the Abit every time for me, but like I said, your first time means you wont see any difference.

ok, I do believe I have a 3rd spare mobo which is definately another Abit but model wise I am unsure at the moment. Its either the KT7 or KG7 raid. How would these do for o'cing? Gonna ask my dad about the NF7 2morrow when I get home and the cpu..lol!!

No.

The KT7 is a great Motherboard, but its no clocker. I got a KT7A-Raid, and I have a ThunderBird 1400 in it, along with 3x256MB Crucial CAS2 PC133 and its absolutely rock solid. I am sure that I can use up to an XP2100 in it, but no higher? - I think anyway, I did try a few CPUs out a whiole back, and it was somethign about there.

Dont have a KG7 so cannot comment on that... I have a KD7 and I have had a KR7 and both those were not clockers ( Although the KD7 has been running a Barton2500 @ 200FSB for several months now and its fine, but that was only because I knew the CPU would do 200 and I took the plunge and adjusted the Dividers accordignly to keep the PCI / AGP slots at 33/66 ( 6-2-1 )

But I dont know about the KG7?
