NFL 2016 Season

How do y'all decide which NFL team to support?

I think it was 1987, I was 12 years old and I saw a huge Redskins towel hanging in a local Wolco (hypermarket). I think that was it! I liked the colours, so they were chosen!

My first year following them, we went and won the Superbowl. My most memorable moments were listening to Darrel Green return the punt against Chicago in the playoffs on the patchy American Forces radio and of course the second quarter of the Superbowl itself. Great times.

General question to all here:

How do y'all decide which NFL team to support?

I lived in Bel Air, Maryland for a couple of years from 1998-2000 so naturally begun following the Ravens, I would say though at that time my interest in NFL wasn't that much so didn't properly start following them until around 2005 when all of my housemates at Uni had teams to support and were watching the Superbowl so I stuck with the Ravens.

Went to the first Wembley game in 2007 and then again in 2010. Except their Superbowl 2012 win, nothing beats though finally seeing the Ravens play in 2014 in Tampa, they won 48-17, will never forget that first quarter 28-0 up :D

One of my mums friends brought me a niners t-shirt back from the states and have supported them for 20 years now. Some bad times in there and again but you live in hope :)

Great stories all!! Thanks for sharing. :)

I'm a Pats fan because my cousins live in Boston and when I went to visit them about six or seven years ago I went to see one of their games in Foxborough. It was the first time I'd been to an NFL game and ever since then I have supported them.

Anyone here using Gamepass on Xbox and seeing issues?

Gamepass on any other device using the same account and internet connection is great, but streaming through the Xbox I get issues where the stream freezes after 5-10 minutes and doesn't recover.

Tried sign out/sight in, reboot, killing all other apps open. Very frustrating, anyone seen anything similar?

Walter Payton. My brother got into the NFL when it exploded in the 1980's and I remember very watching this legendary player running rings around other teams. I even had a replica shirt with his number and name on (have a newer one too). I liked the team name and colours as well. It probably helped that they were successful and where one of the more covered teams at the time.

Apologies I can't be helpful, as I don't use an Xbox One to watch GamePass. I tend to watch GamePass on either a PC or an Android device. It's usually fine most of the time, but I can experience stopping, stuttering of the stream, particularly on the more popular games. For example no one will watch the toilet bowl (Niners @ Bears) today so this should be solid but switch over to RedZone and there's more chance of issues. I don't think it's my connection or devices but their servers.

proof already that we need receivers, cant hold on to the ball for **** even when their not under pressure.

just heard on sky that fisher has "earned" a contract extension, well thats us stuffed for a few more years.........

We Chromecast Redzone to the TV and never have any issues... I don't think it's their servers.

Maybe not, and maybe I'm being unfair. Most of the time GP is faultless. Occasionally there are some moments where it can stutter, but it is rare. And other HD services don't miss a beat, hence why sometimes I have a suspicion they might have streams that are at capacity. It's probably not this but I wanted to make the point that I don't think it's 100% all of the time.

Yes: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...s-jeff-fisher-gets-extension-gm-also-extended

I sense this will not be a popular move on here.

after the last draft i'm amazed they've been kept on, and the main reason seems to be because fisher has experience with the oiler/titans move, he's a coach ffs, added to which :

Fisher hasn't led a team to a winning season since 2008 and has just six seasons in his 22-year coaching career with more than eight victories.

how can you give that guy an extension ?

Fantastic finish. The first time I watched RedZone I wasn't sure I liked it as there was so much being thrown at you, but now I've got used to it, it's great. You don't miss anything.

One again my Skins don't bother playing D on the opening drive, but we seem to have our act together now. Well, we could do with sorting our red zone offence...

Well that was a little disappointing. Probably the first time I can remember for some time, thinking how bad a pass Cousins threw. The most annoying thing, if he'd hit Crowder, he probably would have scored as there was no one left to stop him, due to the blitz.

Full credit to the Cardinals. Annoyingly they did what I always want a team to do when defending the two minute drill. They kept aggressive. Also loved (or hated I guess) their call to go for it on 4th and 1 on their own 35ish. I feel that won them the game.

On a plus side, despite losing Gronk, McCoy, Gordon and Edelman got me a win and I've won my division in Fantasy and earned a bye :)

That explains your earlier comment :p I've been using GamePass since 2006/07 - basically when Yahoo were running the service and you had to pay extra for HD!

RZ is fantastic. After watching the Bears I'll tend to put RZ on. You do lose the detail of the game but particularly for the later Sunday slot it works better because there are less games.

Sorry the Redskins couldn't get the win. The Cards defence was fantastic and one thing it does do is blow the whole wildcard race wide open.

Here in the states there are a large number of soccer fans that support teams from all over.... mostly they decide based on a name or the colors and in some cases they may have an attachment to that particular team, parents or family from that area.

Anyways, since the NFL is really only played in the US, I'm just wondering how y'all decide.

I suppose there are a number of little reasons why I support the Steelers, but probably the main one would be back playing Madden 99 with Kordell Stewart and Jerome Bettis. This was in the days before I had sky so I never watched any games and my only real knowledge of the NFL was Madden.

Good win for the Steelers last night against the Giants, even if it was somewhat expected given the Steelers are very good at home.

If the Giants had a decent running back they would be a very dangerous team, but every time they line up you know Eli is going to throw it.
