NFL 2016 Season

First time I've properly watched this sport and my God that was incredible . If it didn't take up half a day to watch a single game I might actually consider following it, but for now I think I'll stick to watching the super bowl as my source of NFL.

Well you'll certainly never see another choke like that, ball safety is easily the most important thing when 3 scores up lol, Matt Ryan absolutely bottled it after that and the defence stopped nothing (granted hard to when you're on the pitch 80% of the time)

Exciting ending but one team massively out performing the other in each half isn't great + garbage OT rules benefitting the team who gets the ball first by a huge distance spoiled it. 49 was better.

As soon as Edelman made that catch, you just knew they would win it. Moments like that make you think, we can't lose now.......

Saying that, Overtime rules have been garbage for years now. I can't understand how so much of who wins a game is left to a coin toss. It should be if the 1st team score, the 2nd team have to have a go at scoring as well. I.e If 1 team score a TD, then 2nd team have a go to score a TD, if they do it continues. If not they loose.

It's like a penalty shoot out in football suddenly becoming a coin toss and if the 1st penalty goes in, it's all over. So silly.

They're better now than they used to be. When they could just kick a FG to win without the other team touching it, was even worse. At least now they have motivation to go for the endzone.

I agree though, they could do it like college and just go at it until one team scores more than the other on the same amount of possessions.

I had my bet on the Falcons looking great. I'd said it was all or nothing though, but really should have cashed out at £100 (total win being £115) as I thought I could see Brady coming back when it was down to 2 scores.

Surprised people went to bed though. Obviously it was unlikely, but you can't rule Brady out.

What did annoy me was that the Falcons handed it to them. Too many penalties (how many 3rd downs got converted for the Pats due to PI when the drive would have ended?) and then getting into FG range, sack and a holding penalty, then I think it was a silly long pass attempt when they should have just got back into long FG range. Very silly.

The Edelman catch was amazing, way to concentrate and not give up. That will be shown like the David Tyree catch, for years to come. Having said that, the Julio Jones catch on the previous drive was even batter (simply as a catch) but as they couldn't then get the winning points, will likely be forgotten.
