NFL 2017 Season

just watching the rams/49'ers game and the rams should count their lucky stars that the 49'ers are doing their best to help them, not that we're not doing our best to return the favour mind .

i know wade phillips has only just got their but our defence is looking poor, last week against washington they let in the most yards in 5-6 years :(.

they have to know that san fran will run the ball and they've got no clue, and i'm not talking clever running back work just holes everywhere, which i hope is down to them getting use to the change in defence.

still not not sure why they thought phillips would be a good fit, we don't have the players for 3-4.

unbelievable, kick out of bounds from the kick off and 49'ers get to start at their 40 yd line.

edit:

unlucky 49'ers they deserved the win after coming back from the initial kick off.

we had a decent defence and special teams, but these 2 could have lost us the game tonight.

1) kick off out of bounds, so start at the 40 rather than 20 as a touch back

2) roughing the passer, 15 yd pen and 1st down

3) offside trying to take on the 49'ers punting, got them a 1st down

4) punt from the 49ers and the returner loses it by our 10 yd line, no pressure on him either

goff still has a lot of work to do, was mentioned numerous times that under pressure he goes backwards, which causes his o/line problems as he's getting into positions their trying to get the opposition players into.

similar issue with gurley, lost the ball again today, and got lucky a 2nd time cos he was already down, which goes with his give up last week.

Just finishing watching it now and I think Rams fans have a lot to be happy about. Most of what you mention are silly individual mistakes that could be put down to 'bad luck'. Yes, teams can build a reputation for penalties and errors, but I don't think you're there, you got the win, I wouldn't worry about them yet.

True Goff still looks a little uncomfortable under pressure, but he actually threw a lot of very nice passes. He looked a lot better than I thought he would/could.

It helps Goff having someone reliable as Gurley to give to if Watkins & Austin are covered, he will do okay if given the time.

My Titans may get taught a lesson this weekend against the Seahawks but who knows who will turn up on either team!

#3 was a bad call imo if its the one I'm thinking of (think there only was one)

However Rams got away with OPI being called on that last drive, was ******** and would've sealed the game for the Niners. However good progress for the Niners remaining competitive but tanking for picks :D

just realised we will get brought down to earth next week, away to the cowboys, we're can't do anything against the run and elliot has a point to prove, can see him getting a 200+yd day :(

with (3) it was a dumb move on our part, its a punt, likelyhood of getting a block etc is nigh on impossible.

just read that watkins/austin have been put on the concussion protocal :(

offensivly i think we have a fair bit to be happy with, still a work in progress but we're scoring points which we struggled to do last year against everyone, BUT our defence/special teams are ruining most of that progress.

yeah we got lucky with the call, didn't see any other angles , but didn't seem much in it from what i saw

I think the Rams will be fine (providing the concussions to Watkins and Tavon are short term).

This is probably the best I've seen from the Rams in several years, but I agree switching defensive systems will cause a few hiccups on the way. I reckon Rams will finish with a decent 8-8

if they can keep most of their new offensive play, and pick up defence & special teams i'll be happy.

i just don't understand the defensive switch if 'm honest, we had a defence that was more than ok and covered up a lot of the offensive problems, now its switched so we just can't defend.

although i had forgot until i saw a clip, we were 0-2 against the 49'ers over the last couple of seasons so perhaps i shouldn't complain to much :D.

Apologies I meant #2 the roughing the passer call, the offside was offside. Roughing the passer call was ********

Yep. It's the only one this year. No way I'm going back to Twickenham and the other game sold out in no time at all.

What happened with Twickenham? I managed to get tickets to all four games - did the season pass thingy. Twickenham is much easier for me to get to than Wembley.

problem is any attempt to take the qb down after the ball has gone seems to be getting a roughing the passer call, the ones i do agree with are the ones where they get slammed to the ground but for me it was just a tackle, but i think the ref decided he'd had time to adjust so hoyer wasnt taken to the ground :(

For me Wembley is much quicker to get to (35 mins as opposed to over an hour to Twickenham) but also at Wembley, I buy parking in advance, drive in 40 minutes before kickoff, into the stadium and maybe 20 minutes wait until actual kickoff.

With Twickenham, I bought parking on someone's drive. Aimed for about 60 minutes before kickoff as we'd never been before. As we got there basically all roads bar the dual carriageway were closed. We had to go passed our turn and turn into whatever area it was, which was pretty much gridlocked. It took about 40 minutes to get close to the house we needed, but they refused to let us through (what do you do if you live there?!) We found some parking about 20 minutes walk away, so started to walk. By the time we got back to the road block, they'd now opened the roads again (5 mins to kickoff) so we went back and got the car, moved it to the persons driveway. From there it was maybe just a 5 minute walk.

We decided to grab some food before finding our seats... no credit cards, system was down.

Then finding our seats wasn't as easy as it should be, signage just wasn't very good. By the time we sat down I think the 1st quarter had just ended.

Then, when leaving, they held us all crossing the dual carriageway for I would estimate 10 minutes. Once back at the car the traffic wasn't actually that bad getting out.

For me, compared to Wembley it's just not a good location for a stadium, causing all kinds of ball aches. The stadium itself is pretty poor too, but then I might be spoilt generally only having actual NFL stadiums to compare too, which make Wembley seem only average too tbh.

It was a big pile of poo. Absolutely shocking from the Ravens in all areas, they just didn't turn up any where - so horrible to witness, I felt really sorry for all of the fans that would have travelled across the pond. No excuse from the Ravens, I've never rated Flacco - he is just not quick enough out of the pocket and to slow to react under pressure. Fair play to the Jags, they didn't have to do anything special, I felt Ravens just made it far too easy for them.

Sincerely, a very frustrated Ravens fan. :(

As a Steelers fan I was loving watching the Ravens getting it handed to them. Of course my day was ruined later by the Steelers playing down to the opposition as they always do. Ravens will beat us next week to go 1st in the AFC North.

Read today that the Steelers have lost 13 of the last 18 road games against teams with a losing record.

Same crap, year in, year out. It's costing us home field advantage in the playoffs and nobody wants to go to Foxboro in January.
