NFL 2017 Season

nice win for the rams this weekend, shut out was a suprise the way the defence had been playing, but the cards really didn't do themselves any favours, decent spread using most of the receivers/tight ends.

only real downside for us was goff's interception, wasn't even close to being on target from what i saw, but on the plus side it should keep him on his toes and drive him to improve more.

shame on palmer being taken out of the game, few 1st choice qb's dropping early this season and not just for 1 or 2 games :(.

Just watching RedZone through the end of the second set of games now. How do the Texans allow Seattle to move down the field like that, with no timeouts... The winning score it looked like the D just wasn't ready in time.

As for my Skins, whilst I don't generally believe in luck in football, take away the blocked FG and return and it would be a pretty good game. If we'd just protected the ball better, it wouldn't even have been very close.

to be fair listening to the number the skins have lost from their o/line i think they did well, not only from their starting players but backups have been going down as well, lost 2 in the game last night, had to bring on a player that had been with them for a day

as for the houston/seattle game, seen loads of comments, which i agree with, about the call by houston to run instead of pass at the end which ended up giving the ball back to seattle with a chunk of time left.

The head of NFLUK is hinting that next season's games will focus on the teams that haven't been over yet, and they are: Philly, Seattle, Carolina, Green Bay, Houston and Tennessee.

Well... So I could only stay awake for the first half of the Seahawks v Redskins game, just woke and watched the second half in 'Game in 40' format. Wow. Our D had been playing amazing, but our O was really sputtering, Cousins is hanging on to the ball too long behind our patched up line. Seahawks go in with 1:40 left and I'm thinking 'well at least they give us the ball back with some time left'. Paused it and went to make my breakfast. While making my coffee I have BBC's 'News in 1 minute' play on my phone and it says in the sport sections 'Seattle Seahawks are trending....' and I start the usual 'la la la la' but heard something about a TD in the last 2 minutes and 17-14. I assume it's the Seahawks TD I've just seen and go back to see the final minute or so. As I'm watching the first play I'm thinking how was the score 17-14? Maybe I misheard. Then Cousins completes the first pass and I realise I think we're about to win! Cousins really came good at the end, as did Doctson, finally making a great play like we brought him here to do 2 years ago.

A little annoyed it kinda of got spoilt, but still a great result for our guys.

I fully approved of the Redskins win this week, as that Doug Baldwin TD with 1:40 left cost me a win in my fantasy football league. Karmic justice!

Russell Wilson's 35 points last week also gave me another loss. So sod the Seahawks they are ruining my season. I hope they lose every game for the rest of the year.

Ouch Giants @49ers

At least we are looking good for a top draft pick

But before about worrying about the draft, I think a new GM and HC, DC etc... Doesn't need to be mid season, at this point we wouldnt want to start winning. That said a GM could be done earlier in order to get his ducks in a row and be ready to run by Jan 2018

We need a rebuild for the future and not a band aid

I would love to see David Shaw from Stanford be the Giants HC next year. Put the BIG back into the BLUE. Big and physical in your face football is perfect fit for NY ethos. Saban is too expensive, and was not convincing at Miami. Harbaugh is too problematic and distraction for a franchise like the Giants. Josh Mcdaniels is ofc in contention with his Belichick exp, but i still have questions with his stint at Denver. An interesting pick for HC is Steve Wilks the Panthers def coord, i think he deserves a shot at the top job, but i doubt Mara and Tisch would be that bold.

If we can't get Sam Darnold as 1st round pick then trade down and beef up the OL, we need pass protection and dominance in the trenches to open up the running game

My 2cents

If you want to open up the running game, the Giants should probably draft a decent running back. Bradshaw was the last good Giants RB that I can remember and how many years ago was that.

I do agree though that the OL is a problem that needs to be fixed.

Need to fix OL to get a running back. Also most running back have short shelf life, whereas a franchise QB is for next 15 years. I think it's a waste of a top draft pick to get a RB, like Saquan Barkley. We can find an experienced RB in free agency. Also we have Darkwa, Gallman and Vereen who can be more effective if we have good line to open gaps.

To sum up if we cant get Sam Darnold then trade down and fill the gaps in OL, DL, and LB. Trading down we could get a guy like McGlinchey as OT. For DL hopefully we can trade JPP and free up some salary cap, he isnt worth the $62m (reese the bonehead). Maybe the browns or texans will make a deal they like to waste cash (osweiler lol)

Crazy decision to drop Eli by the Giants.

Geno has already proven that he isn't a franchise QB at the Jets so giving him the start tells you nothing. Davis might be good, but late 3rd round draft picks rarely work out at QB, especially in their rookie seasons.

If Eli was playing poorly I could possibly understand it, but he's been quite reasonable this year, fairly average middle of the pack QB. The Giants problem is that all the WRs are injured, they have no running game and a terrible O line. Changing the QB fixes none of those problems.

aren't the giants all ready out of contention for the play offs, so they probably don't want to risk an injury
