NFL 2021 Season

The three div games so far have been very one-sided, I never thought KC were ever in danger of losing even though it ended with just a 7 pt win. Are we gonna have another blowout?

LMAO at Neil, he could put a Brady reference into a discussion about the World knitting championships, the guy is absolutely obsessed. SFG play Dallas in Div game - first thing on Neil's mind "Tom Brady grew up a niner fan"...

It's pathological with him, always has been. I bet he's got Tom Brady pyjamas.

Damn, that's so disappointing. The best team won but that's by far the worst we've played all year. Typical it had to be a playoff game we chose to stink out. That's my only source of sporting joy ended this year, now I have to go back to just having my soul destroyed by Everton. :(

Hopefully the Bengals smash KC now!

At least with Everton you never get your hopes up!

Doesn't look like it judging by first quarter.

49ers have had a very easy schedule, first time they have faced a decent defence and offence for ages.

Kicking problems for Dallas again.

Nope, Dallas look stronger so far. Whoever faces the Eagles next week are going to banged up. This is a brawl.

I think we can safely put Burrow above Allen in the QB rankings too.
I think this is a really interesting discussion we could be having for the next 10 years or so. Obviously, the Bengals offence was far superior yesterday, but a large part of this was the balance they had, or maybe even specifically the running threat they had. Allen was the Bills leading rusher with 26 yards... The Bengals D have a much easier job if they aren't too worried about them running the ball.

The pass Allen threw to Gabe Davis down the sideline is one of the most ridiculous completions you'll see all year, IMO. If you were starting a new team and had to choose one or the other, I still think I might lean towards Allen... but it's a really close call IMO. (Mind you, thinking back to a few of his Red Zone problems in recent weeks... maybe not)

I'd go with Burrow, processing speed - beats arm talent and running ability in my book. Although definitely now "some" running ability is becoming pre-requisite really, Burrow can run a bit, so can Mahomes, Lawrence etc. Brady, Manning, Brees, BR, none of them could run, all going into the HOF. But the game is evolving, so I doubt we'll see too many HOF statue QB's like Marino ever again.

But I still think the QB's job is first and foremost - cerebral. As for Allen and the Bills, yeah he has insane arm talent, and great running ability, but he's simply making too many turnovers. 5 seasons in now and 20 turnovers last year - got to clean that up. I know some Bills fans are starting to turn on the coaching after coming up short of a SB a few times.

As I post this, McCaffery has just bulldozed his way in. He's so tough for a shifty, 3rd down type. (I know he's not a 3rd down back, but he's in that build, but somehow runs between the tackles like the best of them.

But... how did the 49ers not take a Time Out as a minimum on that 4th down 'catch''. The receiver jumped up, signalling to run a play quick and no-one thought... erm, if anyone knows if he caught it or not, it's the receiver... take a time out, take a look, it was 4th down for gods sake.

McCaffery is awesome, that's for sure. The way he didn't go down was something to watch.

Such a bad start for the Niners though. Done well to stay in this game. These two defenses are fantastic to watch.

Certainly the game has turned. Those penalties and mistakes costing the Niners big. That said being reduced to your 4th string QB (on the year) is going to kill most teams. Just feels like the Eagle's day unless something dramatically changes in the second half.

AFC wouldn't even know who to call although based on how good and hot they have been I'd say the Bengals again. But who knows.
