Nforce 4, pci express question

I want to upgrade to a mainboard that supports pci express but I want to use my existing A64 4200+X2 939 cpu and 2 gb of ocz platinum DDR 400. The Asus A8N-E Nforce 4 ultra looks like a good board for this but I read that the new 8800 gt graphics card uses pci express 2.0 but is backwards compatible with 1.1, is this mainboard (A8N-E) pci express 1.1 or the older 1.0a and if it is the older will the geforce 8800gt 512 work on it.
Also is the A8N-e a good mb to begin with or are there better ones that use socket 939 and pci express. Obviously I don't want to go to the trouble of upgrading to pci express and then find that I can't use the latest graphics cards.

Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome :)

From a quick look around the web it would appear that the 8800GT will run in the A8N-E. And it's a pretty decent motherboard.

But you might be better asking in the Graphics Cards forum.

Thanks for the help. I posted here because it was the mb that was my primary concern. I noticed on the oc.uk website that there is a A8N-e mb in the B grade section do you know what this means, will it come with a guarantee?

Thanks

I *think* they come with a 30 day guarantee.

Usually B Grade means that it's a customer return and therefore has been opened and may well be missing some or all of the goodies that usually come with it (things like the original box, cables, manual, IO shield). Or it may just be a damaged box. But the actual motherboard will be fine.
