Hi does anyone know if the swiftech MCW30 chipset cooler will fit a 680 northbridge ?

I fitted one without problem.

There's also a thread somehwere on here regarding the dangers of chipping the fragile 680i core.

Cheers for the pic , did it make any difference to your overclock and what did you do to your southbridge?

Made absolutely no difference to the overclock tbh but its a hell of a lot quieter. I used a vantec Iceberg for hte southbridge.

I'd give you a link m8 but its against the rules. Not sure if ocuk's chipset coolers are thin enough. Ask Jokester as he also cooled his SB and may have used something OCUK stock.

Yeah understood about a lead , i was thinking of trying my nothbrdge fan off my dfi 3200 on the sb if it will fit,, it would be thin enough and getting a mcw30 waterblock for the northbridge , but i will run it by Jokester and see what he used on the sb, cheers

I put a big passive sink on it and aimed a 120mm fan on it, not particularly elegant but did the job.

Nice looking - looks very much like the maze 4 design so I'm guessing maze5? Don't like acrylic though, cracks too easy.

I would guess it's just the Maze4 but with a different top on it to fit the 4 hole layout of the 680i boards.

Yeah acrylic(Lucite) and Polycarbonates are stiffer. Cracks easier, especially as it ages. An acetal(delrin) top would be a nice option.
