Hey guys, I have a pretty nasty problem :(

I have just recieved a new motherboard to replace mine under warranty.

When i turn the system on windows automatically downloads the newest nforce Sata drivers and thus makes my system unusable after a reboot. It's all over the net but i just can't find a solution.

I have some work due in 4 days and no computer to do it on.... I don't know what to do.

I have tried turning off auto download on drivers but the deed is done way before i can turn it off. I also can't find any old working drivers to replace it with........

Windows automatically downloads the drivers? Can you not just turn off Windows Update? (I assume that's where it's getting them from).

Also why do they make the PC unusable after a reboot? (excuse my ignorance. :p :o)

there is a program that automatically downloads driver for new hardware. By the time I can disable it the drivers have been long downloaded.

It makes the machine BSOD during loading bar everytime without fail :(

nVidia have acknowledged the problem but i can't find a fix.

It is the nForce Serial ATA Contoller

unplug your router whilst you setup and configure?
disable what ever you need to, then reconnect.

What drivers were you using before?
CD with new mobo?
Mobo model/make?

I tried it without the net and it didn't work, I think the drivers are saved on my sstem somewhere.

I'm not sure of the drivers i was using before, I think they were the drivers from my p5n32 e sli disk.

I recieved no disk with this board..... This board is an Asus Striker Extreme 680i

have you tried booting into safe mode, manually rolling back the drivers, then running msconfig to disable anything that could be downloading them?

Because it's a sata controller any form of windows crashes :(

It is windows update doing it but a seperate driver section found under

Control Panel>System>Advanced Settings>Hardware>Windows Update Driver Settings....
