yes its me again done a full format because usb sticks didnt work and the install was only a few days old.

now everything is working but the sata drivers do not install

normally it would say sata controller instead of ATA controller/Standard dual channel...blah blah

installed chipset drivers from nvidia site made no difference, normally windows update finds the drivers and installs, even if i manually try its says its not compatible for the hardware

any ideas?

Thanks

Look under 'storage controllers' - third from bottom in your screen dump.

Should find sata and raid stuff in there.

I have the same motherboard and mine has exactly the same entries in Device Manager. I can't say I've noticed it having an effect on the machine whatsoever. Also, to get USB sticks to work, all you need to do is browse to C:\ and get the driver installation to search there. It'll find and install the drivers when you search that location.

funny thing is this is the 1st time i installed windows with "plug n play OS:YES" the other times it installed sata drivers for nforce.

usb stuff work since format/install

looks like i'll be doing another format. msn has got double contacts of every1

oh PCI slot has a 56K modem lol just keep it there incase and i put some cables under it. does not affect the OS.
