NFS Carbon keeps hanging

Got NFS carbon re installed last night, and it just keeps hanging mid game.

typical situ is looping sound and the screen freezes, but you can alt tab and see a mouse cursor flying around.

are there any anti virus / background programs that the has an issue with, as I dont think the pc is unstable as ive have GOW, Crysis, Supreme Commander and COD4 running fine day in, day out on it

Angers me as i just wanna finish it!

Mine always used to just bomb out to desktop whenever it saw fit, so much so that i just un-installed because the game wasn't worth the hassle of trying to fix whatever was wrong with it.

not a great help....but totally see where you are coming from, borrowed pro street, it crashed twice and then it was so bab that I thought the space on the HDD would be better left empty lol
