NFS: Most wanted Or Carbon

I've heard some people say Most wanted is better than carbon and really wanting to grab an NFS game, havent played one in a while, which will give me the best customizing and racing fun?

And bah, I posted this in the wrong forum, looking at 360 version.

I think Most Wanted is superior to Carbon if you want racing fun. Carbon is also very short (though you can get the collectors edition for £10 in some places).

Customizing was for Carbon as it had more options.
 
Carbon was crap having it all based at night plus the drifting races really got on my t!ts. You'll get so far in Most Wanted and then be driven to despair because the computer cars are practically unbeatable. I daresay the next one, Pro Speed, or something will be making an appearance in a couple of months.
 
I liked the night racing after Most Wanted, it just felt right. The drifting in Carbon is very easy if you've already played the NfSU2 version as the Carbon tracks are much wider than in NfSU2.

Pro Street is meant to have a more realistic driving feel to it so looking forward to it more than I did Carbon.

amen, starting to get bored of the whol fast and furious need for speeds, glad they're moving it in a new direction.

Most Wanted is a great game and better than Carbon, which was far too easy/short (e.g. drift scores not getting reset by collisions). However some of the bounty challenges where you have to rack up huge pursuit achievements and then escape used to take ages, i.e. 30mins+. I got really frustrated by them.

In general I am a huge fan of the NFS series, I've played them all since NFS3 (Hot Pursuit) and the only one I didn't think much of was NFS4 (High Stakes). Best of the bunch is undoubtedly NFS5 (Porsche 2000), which has aged very well. So personally I'd buy all that you can get your hands on.

One thing that surprises me is that EA haven't decided to cash in with a "Need for Speed: The First Decade" style compilation pack in the way that they did with C&C.
 
Most Wanted sucks big time. I don't know what they were thinking when they turned on catch-up-logic permanantly, completely negates the point of upgrading your car. :rolleyes:

Carbon is much, much better. It's short, yes, but has all the good bits from MW and hardly any of the bad ones.
 
Main problems with Carbon compared to MW for me are:

1) Too easy
2) Chases aren't as hectic
3) The environment/city isn't as nice

One thing which is slightly annoying is that they haven't made a pure classic racer since NFS6 (HP2) way back in 2002. The last 5 have all been city-style jumping on the F&F bandwagon to some extent. TDU was a good clone, to be fair.
 
Thought i'd also add that i'm on my second run through on NFS Carbon, going Exotic this time (already done Tuner, going to do Muscle last).

MW was my fave of the whole series, very difficult later on in game and kept you at it. With Carbon you can actually complete the career mode in about a day or two of heavy gameplay.
 
Thanks for the input guys... Looking at the replies I'll probably go with Most Wanted, but you're such a split bunch...

TBH, I think I'll go with whichever i can find cheaper :D
