NFS:MW on vista

When I try to install this on Vista it says that I need directx 9.0c or better.

I installed 9.0c again just incase I didnt have it (pretty sure I did) but nothing doing.

Hope there is a way around this because I hear that MW is the pinnacle of the NFS series.

Have you tried installing directx 9.0c off the disk?

Mine installed straight out but worth a try.
