Can you create NFS share using windows 10 enterprise?

I don't think NFS support was improved with Windows 10. I have a feeling only Windows Server 2012 (R2) can create NFS shares but Windows clients can't access them out of the box.

Why do you want/need NFS though? In my experience, NFS just isn't worth it in a Windows or mixed environment. SMB 3.x works just fine and its performance is great - I get 115 MB/s over gigabit Ethernet from a server with a Celeron. Are you talking about an environment where you may have many clients connecting to shares at once?

I was reading a kodi guide and it recommends using NFS over SMB for performance issues...

Kodi is a media centre application, right? I use something similar, MediaPortal, and have always used SMB.

yeah its a media application and I use SMB but sometimes it stutters and reading guides and help it recommends using NFS as its more efficient....

Is there no way you can create NFS on win10? Anyone confirm for definite

Use network cables to reach device, not wireless or powerline.

A Synology NAS has great NFS support, built in and easy to use.

Smb is fine unless you are pushing some mega huge files. Sob will happily do 300MB/s (yes I mean MB)

Kodi is very happy when using NFS.

When you're using Raspberry Pi's with OpenElec, nfs seems a nicer experience. less cpu usage on the Pi

yeah but I guess u cant use it in windows 10 as no1 has said it can be done yet

I ran OSMC on a Raspberry Pi model B connecting via SMB and it was fine. If you're seeing playback issues (and the CPU isn't maxed out) then look at the network.
