NFS SHIFT 2 OR WAIT FOR DIRT 3 ?

Currently enjoying dirt 2 bought cheap in steam sale, have noticed that shift 2 is currently going cheap on Amazon for £15.00. Is it worth a punt or should i wait for dirt 3 ? Not long now. Have read all about shift 2's problems with car handling, didn't touch shift 1 only the demo and car would never drive straight ! Play with xbox 360 controller.
 
I do not think that shift is all that great tbh, its mediocre. I myself would reccomend you try GRID, another creation of codemasters, and uses same engine and graphics as dirt, but is track based rather than rally.
 
Noticed from recommended specs that gpu ati from 6000 series, but i would've thought my 5870 wasn't good enough yet to game on high settings. Or is it really time to start saving for a replacement?

You are joking!..the handling on grid is total carp unless like me all you drive is demolition derby online. Shift 2 is fine after the patch so get shift 2 and dirt 3:D

I use a 5870 at 3840x1200 with Grid, Shift 1 and 2 and dirt 2 on max settings apart from shadows on medium in dirt 2.

GRID handling is great imo, once you learn how to drive and get used to.
Personally I played all this games and grid, dirt2 are my favorite.
 
Handling in shift 2 without juls mod is weird, its like ridge racer, cars turn on a central pivot and very slidey.

Handling in shift 2 with juls mod is again not right, cars handle like tanks, better than without juls but its not "right".

Wait for dirt 3.
 
Im playing shift 2 without the mod and the game feels fine to me now it's patched. But am also looking forward to Dirt 3 :)
I say treat yourself and get em both!
 
I am playing it, and sometimes the handling is ridiculous, even driving a suburu round Nuberg GP wasn't handling like it should not too disimilar from a Touring car. I think driving on grid was much more enjoying.

Though the game I play most now is F1 or Race as I love touring cars

It's not mario though, it has luigi in the title. NFS still uses the NFS name.
 
I've avoided shift 2; it seems to suffer from many of the same problems that plagued Shift 1 like the nasty physics, crappy handling, weird bugs etc. I spent a lot of time tweaking and modding Shift 1 just to make it playable (w/ a Logitech Momo FF wheel)....I have no desire to do it all over again for Shift 2.

I am looking forward to Dirt 3. I loved Grid and D2, so I'll definitely get D3.

Agreed, it shouts out for a GRID 2 XD Or even if they brought back the old good and proper TOCA series based on just the BTCC and support classes
