Hi,

Looking at buying a new racing game.

Out of the two, which do you think is better?
Even though it's older, from looking at game play, I think Hot Pursuit 2 looks better

Let me know what you think, cheers!

Shift 2 is the better game of the two. Hot pursuit is a fun little game but Shift 2 has a lot more depth and will last you longer.

Also if you like rally Dirt 3 has just come out and is a lot of fun :)

Hot Pursuit has great graphics but really bad boring gameplay.

SHIFT 2 has amazing gameplay (at least on x360pad from helmet view with HUD off) and great graphics too.

They're both rubbish.

Burnout Paradise is a much better game than NFS HP2 and is much cheaper.

Any other race sim ( Race 07, GTR 1 and 2, rfactor, GT Legends, iRacing) is better than either of the NFS Shift games, remove the f from the title and that sums it up perfectly.

Hot Pursuit 2010 is a great game. Looks very nice on PC as well easy to pick up & play its a pure arcade racer gameplay wise so like all games its gets to be the same after a while but probably the best looking arcade racer on PC right now!

Depends what you're after in a racer. Hot Pursuit is an arcade 'pick up and play' powersliding pedal to the metal street racer with cop chases and helicopters dropping stingers on you.

Shift 2 is a much more serious racer with a much more steeper learning curve and more realistic handling model racing round track circuits It's a more detailed game with better graphics and longevity.

Both great games but totally different from each other.

I personally prefer Hot Pursuit. Memorising braking points etc. isn't my thing. Throwing a Pagani into a corner sideways, at 140mph, is :D

Never been a big fan of track games. Rally games are a different story, however.
