NFS: Underground 2 - controls?

Old game yes, but a great game all the same.
In my opinion,the best of all the Need for Speeds games.
Anyway, every time I want to play this game, I have to re-enter the controls.
Why is this?
Never did it on XP, only when I upped to 7 I think? Did it play well in XP64?
Anyway, is there any reason as to why this happens, or is it just incompatible in this tiny way?

Sounds like a permissions problem in saving the game settings.

Try running the game as admin. If that works you can start changing permissions on folders the game might use (programdata, appdata, virtualstore, etc) which should fix it without elevation.
