NFS Underground 2 hangs on loading game...

I've bought the game and I'm still not having any luck. Each time it happens I have to exit the game by CRTL ALT and DEL and then restart and try it again and even then it does the same thing.

Its patched to version 1.2

My setup is as follows: (if it makes any difference)

AMD 64 3200+ (754)
1Gb Of Geil Value ram PC3200
Gainward 7800GS + 512Mb AGP graphics card
3 x 200 Gb Maxtor Hard drives
Pioneer DVD-RW
Liteon CD-RW
Creative X-FI Music sound card
OC Z 520W PSU

I've had the same problem on my fiance's setup and I couldnt find any help on it at all (I must be blonde cos I really cant find anything to help with this problem)

Can anyone out there shed some light on this please? Its really spoiling the game :(
 
If I recall, I posted something about it when I first had the problem with my fiances PC and I got no damn replies :(

I will make another call over there tho, just to check :)
 
The no cd file is what causes the hanging. Do a web search and you will find another solution which cannot be discussed on here.
 
Actually, this happens with or without the no cd file. Please feel free to email me if there is a fix for this with a no cd file. Its doing my head in!

That sadly dont help much to me, as I'm a dumb ass when it comes too typing in what's needed... Please feel free to msn me or something to help me out here!! It would be appreciated :)
 
erm only thing I can think of, if your DVD drive or CD drive (whatever type the game is) is reading the disc slowly?
 
Not at all.

Basically, there's a bar the goes along and on the second pass, it would stop, then load and then flash across once more and then the game screen appear.
When it doesnt, the game just sits there on the loading screen and the bar just keeps passing by all the time, not doing a damn thing...

I've no idea why it does it, but it really does make the game not worth playing if it does it every other race I play...
 
Tried patching the game to the latest update? Could be an issue with video drivers as well as it works fine for me when I updated both on my own system.

AMD64 4000+
2Gb Crucial Ballistix PC4000 DDR
Gainward GS7800+ GS AGP
etc
