Following on from my thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18242584

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for an alternative air cooler that would essentially give me the same results.

The main difference I'm looking for is height, although I think this CPU cooler would look great in the case (NZXT Phantom), my current issue is with the side 200mm fan.
Ideally I would like to keep the fan, and the NH-D14, but if there's an alternative that's just as good then I'll opt for that.

So, the question I threw up on my thread about how the fan on the side would be mounted...
would it work or is there an alternative CPU cooler out there?

I do want to overclock the 2500K CPU as well.
Water cooling isn't an option and anything higher in price over the NH-D14 isn't either as I'm already over my budget slightly.

Thanks :D

'Water cooling isn't an option...' - Does that include closed loops e.g H50 (Or that new one that OcUK are stocking)?

those are fine, I guess I should change the "not an option" to "anything for the same price as the NH-D14" :p

I've never done water-cooling, so the reason for not doing it with the build I'm doing is just general fears of making a pigs ear of it.

I would like to venture into water cooling, but I'll save that for another day.

As for the H50, would this be good for over-clocking the 2500k?

Well you need to find out the exact height you have to play with ?
The h50 etc pale in comparison to the d14 silver arrow and archon but would still acheive a nice overclock.
