Has anyone got this, and if so is it worth the step up from NHL 08? My 3 year old decided to use my NHL 08 DVD and see how far he could throw it around the garden. Suffice to say it's now scratched to death and has a split in the DVD, so I'm looking to upgrade. I can get 08 on the cheap preowned but if 10 is THAT much better I'll stump up the £££.

Speaking for the ps3 version, 09 was the big step up over 08.

While 10 plays a little differently, it wasn't improved all that much over 09, you can find it cheap, id stump for that... 09 was 15 quid in town last week (derby)

Unless onlines you're bag, then ofcourse you gota pay the man and jump all over 10.

Tough call though, paying 40 quid for 6 months before 11 shows:)
 
hmmmm.... yeah it's not a straight forward choice perhaps I'll just stump for 10 as if I got 09 I may spend the rest of the time thinking that I should have got 10 instead!! lol
 
NHL 10 disc is hardly ever out of my PS3. Very addictive and I'm pretty much offline only! Not a huge amount of difference from 09 but just enough if you enjoy NHL. Didn't have a PS3 when 08 was about.

The board play was the big addition in '10 and it's ok. The goalies have a couple of desperation moves too. Also some more game options to put you straight into the play-offs or play a single season.

I don't think NHL 09 allowed you to add music for all teams intros, goals etc but it's a nice option if you find the download put together by some fans looking for a touch more realism. A bit of patience required to add it but worth it. I assume the Xbox allows this too.

Cool.. but... just checked the price on a well known web site and its £39.99 for 360 and £29.99 for PS3 :(

guess I'll go hunting and see what I can turn up.

Would be nice if they put the Pens out. Not that Devils will be going much further I reckon.

Anyway, Xbox NHL 10 is available for a surprising £15.99 I just noticed. 4 places have it for less than £18! Not sure if links to game search sites are allowed.
 
sorry to drag up an old thread, but I couldn't resist this. I have just purchased NHL 10 from a well known online game retailer for £7.99. the funny thing was the price for a New copy was £7.99 and the price for a pre-owned copy was £42.99!! whatever, I've saved a fair about of cash and got the game i wanted. :)
 
I went to get NHL 10, it was £40 NHL 09 was £15. Got 09 - I don't follow hockey so didn't make any difference to me.

Well said. IMO NHL 10 gets completely overlooked because of fifa. Regardless of what your in to in real life NHL 10 is by far the better sports game.
