hi all, i just ordered NHL2k7 on the PS2, it looks cheap, and reasonably good.

i have never played an NHL2K game, as i have always stuck to NHL 2005/06 etc etc, but am trying to break away from this mould.

has anyone else got this on pre-order, or have any experience of NHL2k series? i am counting down the days (its allegedly released on the 5th Oct according to some sources) to see what its like!

I've got NHL2K6 on the 360 and I've just bought NHL 07. I gather from what I've read that NHL2K7 is much the same as the previous version. It seems that the 2K sports series play a bit more arcadey than the EA NHL series.

I picked up NHL '07 (xb360) last night having played 2k7 on a friends machine and not liked it (looks like previous gen, too arcadey and does not 'feel' like hockey). Only played '07 for a little while last night but loved every minute of it :D

noooooo, i wwas under the impression that NHL 2k7 would be more like the pro evo compared to fifa... i.e more simmy and LESS arcadey

agh!

btw i know that NHL07 on the xbox360 is next gen standard, wheras the PS2/XB/PC version is just an updated 06 version...

cool, well i have now played NHL2k7 on the ps2 for a while, and alos NHL07 on the PC for a while.

they both suck - to a degree.

NHL2k7 is the better hockey game although not without its flaws. the fast skate is too fast, u can ride the puck with a defenseman from your own blue line into the offensive zone and be on a break away...but it is quite difficult to score them. the new camera is pretty good. not THAT much better than ICE camera on nhl however. The sound is better than NHL07 too, not in terms of quality, but in terms of atmosphere!

the downside are the gfx - pretty poor for this day tbh, but this is exaccerbated by HDTV, the lines are fuzzy, it makes me unhappy;/

NHL07 looks the business, the rink looks nice, the jerseys come out fine and dandy. the gameplay is still 2006 though, which wasnt great to begin with. passing the puck is a bit scratchey. the players seem to get caught mid moves and end up doing nothing. and the keepers make all the same motions from previous years, i.e the puck goes high, they inch backwards as the puck crawls over their handonto their shoulder and into the net as they squirm backwards...the shots seem instantly too powerful - from anywhere - without much backlift either!

hope that helps anyone looking to buy either of these games!
