Was just playing NHL 2K6, trying to get an ahievement where i had to score in the first minute but for some reason i had to exit the game to rematch as it wasnt reading the disk or the disk was dirty (which i though).

Can't be the chips, maybe its the CD ROM drive.

Can't send it away either as i opened it up to fix it when it was out of warranty last time (before they introduced the 3 years)

O well, ill see what i can do with her, she was 2 on the 20th of january! I thought she would have lived!

Wonder if my box is on the way out, keep getting *CRACK* sounds coming from inside it when its idle (Never when its in a game) and you can hear the laser scratching something when loading or exiting a game!
 
On my girls headstone is RIP 2/12/05-11/12/07 a few days over 2, she was a bonny lass and a launch console.

Have a shiny Elite now :D
 
Hmm I've always wondered did Microsoft expect the 360 to fail and so built in the red lights but said only 3 equals death encase the forth light died also!!
 
you can send it back even if you have opened it up as the 3 red lights is classed as a manufacturing fault.

I sent mine back and i have opened it up and changed the firmware.
 
Unlucky :( At least you're free of that bloody penalty shot achievement for a bit :p
Mine died during GH3.

I have put loads of stinger roadkill expert in it and have also changed the thermal paste.

Do you think they will take it away?

EDIT - I didnt even get that far haly :(

Was trying to get the score under a minute and everytime i did it i went to exit and rematch and it would just sit there loading for ages, would have to quit to dashboard. But i accidently turned it off this time, turned it on, poof, gone!

np sir, the ps3 is getting all the attention of late. The poor elite was just sitting there getting no love at all, which is sad as the 360 and I once shared a deep relationship.

Would rather give her to a good home than allow it to get old, dusty and neglected.

Just in case! :p

I also changed the thermal paste to arctic silver 5 beforehand. Hopefully it wont break again. I wouldnt be surprised if it does... First ever major hiccup i have had with it is this!
