NHL07 - Favourite players?

Yes a very specific thread for any NHL07 fans!

I've grown to love this game, actually been trying to find out which channels show NHL games and considering Sky because of it! I've got well and truely into it!

Two players that stick out of me on my favourite team are:

Jerome Iginla

Dion Phaneuf

They're both insane, Phaneuf has spent more time suspended than playing but when he does I seem to get tons of assists off him and his hits are mental, he literally injures about 1 opposing team player every second game, he's like a tank and nothing gets in his way, god help anyone fool enough to try to get past him!

Iginla is just an insane sniper, shots from all angles seem to go in for some fantastic goals and he has the turn of speed to get past most defenders. His agility makes playing him a lot of fun, such a superb all round player.

I haven't really tried any of the othe teams as I'm still in my first dynasty season but I'm absolutely loving this game above all others!
 
sounds good, did you play NHL04,5,6 perchance? also, which format are you playing it on?

i just got NHL 2k7 on the weekend for PS2 and its pretty good! but not many people play it...s
 
I'm a big NHL fan but i dont have a console right now to play NHL07 :(

However i'll give my opinions based on previous NHL incarnations...

pfft flames fans :p don't see any for 2 years on these forums and now they come out like mice bolting for a piece of cheese! Go Canucks!!

Anyway...

Ohlund (VAN) - quick, hard shot and can hit like a frieght train.

Bertuzzi (FLO) - same as above, i loved players who could hit hard and skate fast, built my teams around that concept.

JP Dumont - Always scored against me, never wanted to sign for me...git.

I use to play NHL games in arcades etc but this is the first console version I've had. I'm guessing it'll be near identical to the PS2 version of NHL 2K7 though. It's NHL07 on the Xbox 360 I'm playing, gameplay is magnificent once you get the hang of the skill stick for shooting :)

If I'm honest I'm only a fan as it was the random team I started with in the Dynasty! Otherwise I'd probably like some other team :p Odd how it happened but my mate and I are so use to cheering on the flames that we're now real-life fans, oddly we hate the Oilers, probably because I always seem to lose against them.

Odd how games influence you!

I'll have to check those players out, see if I an trade for one of them if he's not ancient, need another defender that I can rely on to do damage for when Phaneuf is suspended ;)
 
hmm what about maxim Afinigenov? he could just speed skate around everyone, and okay he'd get laid out a few times but hey thats hockey!

also i loved scoring with Satan, its cool when soemone with that name scores.

I like Iginla, but if i have a standout center i like them to be left handed so that i can take the puck towards the crease, go right, and then go left and put the puck high on the keepers Stick side (unless its a right handed keeper rgrggrgrgrr - which totally throws that out of the window)

i also like Keith Tchachuk (of ex Blues infamy), Tony Amonte etc. i liked the old Big hitters (i.e Hammer symbol) with a Big Shooting (big stick) symbol and liked to batter and pound the net with them!

also, i used to have a thing for the Blue Jackets, and use Ray Whitney, because i could get some good goals coming in from the left (but that was back in 02/04 time frame)

Any of these are worth a look if you can afford them...

Zdeno Chara is a good buy if you want a big defender.

Derian Hatcher is everyones favorite guy to hate, but he's a hard git.

Ed Jovanovski is one of my all time favorite tough guys who can also play well.

Matthias Norstrom always battered me silly.

Mainly going from real life here though since i dont own NHL 07 :p
