Hi Everyone!
I'm a long-time PC user interested in switching to the Mac. My last Apple was a ][GS which will date me a little. I've read on another thread that NHS employees can get a discount on Apple products but can't find out how to access this.

Can anyone help?

Otherwise it's one of those Sony VAIO's I saw in John Lewis last Saturday - I didn't realise Blu-Ray BURNERS had made it to affordable laptops!

Stinky,
Thanks very much for the info and for your friendly welcome! In the interests of the forum (and me!) I've just been down to my local Apple store in Southampton to ask some questions.

The gentleman I spoke to was very knowledgeable except when it came to claiming any discount online, which, he said, was higher but wasn't able to elaborate except to suggest that you had to find local arrangements to take advantage of this (Anyone?).

Buying via the store is more straightforward. Simply show your NHS ID and you're eligible. Discount depends on what you're buying. Examples: Macbook=6%, Aperture v2.0=11%.

Bear in mind that they pretty much only offer stock models with upgrades being limited to RAM. If you want something unusual it would be worth ringing first.

Anyway, hope that's useful to someone.
