Had a text yesterday from NHS saying I have an appointment next week! Which department??? Nothing mentioned. As I’m go to three departures in three different buildings! Never received the letter (yet). Normally get letter in good time unless someone from hospital contacts me saying they have a cancellation would I like it - which is a few days later.

It would be nice for the NHS to disclose the dept or consultant’s name in the text so know which building, how long to expect to be late (as one of them it’s a miracle if there under 3 hours). At least I have the text as a proof of appt!

Letters do get lost in the post. So having to waste goodness knows how long to find out which dept it’s is by contacting the hospital appt line. Sometimes get cut off if too many people are in the queue.

Sorry for the rant. Others will be in the same position!

Letter could be stuck in the post. We've had issues locally since end of August with Royal Mail being short of posties dues to illness and shielding. People have missed appointments as a result as they weren't registered for the text reminders, so be grateful for at least knowing you need to turn up.
How many will be struck off due to this?

I bet they love it when you turn up moaning as well ;)
I don’t moan when at hospitals . Like myself at my work, they are stressed out plus I have a friend working at the main hospital in Aberdeen.

Found out which dept the appt is for. The condition I see the doctor for has got a little worse.

I got a call from Hospital a few months ago for pre assessment, I ask what for and they said the colonoscopy I was scheduled for in 2 weeks. Didn’t get a letter at all and had to cancel due to being away. Lucky that they called as I wouldn’t have had a clue, my consultant had requested it before covid and obviously it was put on the back burner.
July 2020, I had a few days off work and had a phone call asking me could I come in to get a growth removed the following day. If I was working as per normal, I would have missed that call and minor procedure.
