Nibiru..2012 the end?

Yes (if it was close enough to be an issue), but what does that have to do with anything?
the end?
Particularly revelation 8:8

Just saw this at the bottom of this page:http://www.2012warning.com/

All you Believers should take a look at the history of this Nibiru/Planet X history.
It was started by a bloke called Zecharia Sitchin who claims to have uncovered, through his retranslations of Sumerian texts, evidence that the human race was visited by a group of extraterrestrials from a distant planet in our own Solar System.

Sitchin's theory proposes the planets Tiamat and Nibiru. Tiamat supposedly existed between Mars and Jupiter. He postulated that it was a thriving world in a much differently shaped solar system, with jungles and oceans, whose orbit was disrupted by the arrival of a large planet or very small star (less than twenty times the size of Jupiter) which passed through the solar system between 65 million and four billion years ago. The new orbits caused Tiamat to collide with one of the moons of this object, which is known as Nibiru. The debris from this collision are thought by the theory's proponents to have variously formed the asteroid belt, the Moon, and the current inclination of the planet Earth.

Sitchin hypothesizes Nibiru as a planet in a highly elliptic orbit around the Sun, with a perihelion passage some 3,600 years ago and assumed orbital period of about 3,750 years; he also claims it was the home of a technologically advanced human-like alien race, the Anunnaki, who apparently visited Earth in search of gold. These beings eventually created humanity by genetically crossing themselves with extant primates, and thus became the first gods.

Beginning in 1995, websites such as ZetaTalk have identified Nibiru or "Planet X" as a brown dwarf currently within our planetary system, soon to pass relatively close to Earth. Sitchin disagrees with the timing of passage.[2]

YOU STILL BELIEVE IN SITCHIN?

(words taken from Wiki)

stop copying and pasting rubbish.

as mentioned before. if a dwarf star/planet was going to pass by earth we would see it.

the government would have no reason to hide this fact.

zeta talk is run by a crazy old woman called nancy lieder. honestly if anyone has heard her being interviewed by art bell or other late night talk show hosts, you will realise how nuts she really is.

why does the last couple of quotes sound a lot like stargate, what 2012 represents, noboby knows, it could mean a new change in life as we know it, or just an end of a calender.

however making an accurate prediction like this seems like a lot dog poo to me, the fact is theres still a lot we don't know about our universe as it's past our level of understanding, also the fact that how big it is and it's expanding very quickly to us it's just numbers/ and laws of physics involved that we cant comprehend.

So why the myan religion?

Why not one of the thousand other religions that have been and gone?

Most of which failed to predict their own end let alone anything else.

the miyans used the star constellations as there calender, but doesn't mean the destruction of earth, it just means the change in something.

it's like asking does god exist? but without evidence how can prove that? unfortunately if something does happen that is apart of life, part of this universe and the world we live in, and there is some things that will never be answered, the whole point of living is about enjoying the time while your here and not taking things for granted cause to the universe we are a peice of dust.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever come across the Dogon tribe? I have a recollection of reading a National Geographic years ago, which contained a story of some French explorers who visited the Dogon tribe in Africa I believe. While there, the tribe shared with them knowledge of a sister star to Sirius, which could not be seen with the naked eye. This information was later passed to astronomers who then found the star.

The tribe claimed to have been given the information by aliens visiting Earth.

While typing this, I thought I'd have a quick Google and found these links - worth a read if you CBA:

Part of me thinks it's nonsense, but equally, what if it were true? The possibility fascinates me ;)

But countless religions and other groups have predicted lots and lots of things that aren't utter annihilation, what makes the Mayans special?

This facinates me too after reading your links I found this (Will copy and paste underneath, sorry Sandman06.) and obviously I found it poignant and extemely interesting, though the cynic in me (Or more to the truth, to get in before the cynics state the obvious.) thinks they must have been influenced by missionaries.

According to the Dogon, the Nommos were more fishlike than human, and they had to live in water. They were saviors and spiritual guardians. The principal Nommo was "crucified and resurrected" and in the future will again visit the Earth, this time in human form. Later he will assume his amphibious form and will rule the world from the waters. They state further that this Nommo "divided his body among men to feed them; that is why it is also said that the universe 'had drunk of his body', the Nommo also made men drink. He gave all his life principles to human beings."

Strangely enough, an almost identical tale was received by and passed on by the SUMERIANS and Babylonians. They state that amphibious beings called "Oannes" came to the Earth for the benefit of the human race. Their egg-shaped vessel landed in the Red Sea.

does the mayan calender actually say that planet x will hit earth?

like iv'e said it was used as a guideline of something, could be the encounter an alien race, could be were we are in the galaxy or universe, could be the time when a star is born or dies.

Could be that another day comes and we all get on with our lifes?

This tread has had me in stitches, Oh noes brown dwarf we can't see or feel.

To all the people who believe this ****, WHY ARE YOU POSTING ON THE INTERNET if i was knew that impending doom was to be upon us soon i would not be sat in front of a computer, I would be trying to cram a life's worth of stuff into the years we have left.

I cant wait till 01/01/2013 just so i can point & laugh

why not 22/12/2012
