Nice build for Christmas?

So, when I do get a bit of spare cash, I'm looking to get this. I was thinking about replacing the R7 260X with a 7870 as the 7870 has somewhat better performance.

What was the thermal paste for? the stock cooler comes with paste pre-applied.

I can see that board (78LMT) crumble under the power draw of a clocked 6300. Ever considered windows 8? practically the same price and win8.1 comes with a start bar now!

The 7870 is now EOL and suitable ones may not be so available closer to christmas but the refresh is the 270x i believe. Make sure you get a card with DVI-I connection rather than DVI-D, when it comes to choosing your card (or your VGA to DVI wont work for your monitor).

I didnt know the cooler came pre-applied, and secondly, a lot of these things are on offer at the moment. I'm guessing this will come to around £600 when they are not on offer?

There always some offer or another to use. Closer tot he time you will have to do a bit of browsing on OCuk but there will still be memory offers and HDD offers and GPU offers.

Yeah, there will probably be more offers when Christmas comes along and I will probably have an easier time
