Can anyone recommend a decent restaurant (a good foodie pub would be perfect!) that is near Manchester or at the very least off the M6 around that area? I won't go further South than Manchester (I need to be at the airport for half 9 tonight).

Would prefer a recommendation rather than just try some random place in a random town. Cheers.

Don't want Chinese or Indian. Fish is probably a no no also.

Budget - Not Michelin star, but something nice enough. I won't be drinking so that'll help keep costs down. Around £15 a main would be good.

I was planning on getting an overpriced and bogging sarnie from a service station, but the girlfriend is coming with me now so thought I'd try and find somewhere nice for dinner.

Don's - Please can we keep this in GD due to it having more traffic and it's an urgent request. Cheers.

Come on Overclockers!

Gotta leave now, but will be checking on the road. Come through for me. I want a nice dinner in Englandshire!

In the end, I just went to a random Italian in Kendal. Was nice enough.

Wish a Mod didn't move this, not that unreasonable to keep it in GD for one evening, going to ask why they did.

It's OK Justin.
In the end there probably wasn't time for anywhere that nice so just as well I never got any decent suggestions! My father (who I was picking up at Manchester) wouldn't have been happy if I rolled up 2 hours late thanks to a fantastic meal!

The Highway Man Inn/Three Fishes do actually look pretty good. I'll try and remember that if I'm ever in the area again.

French, I was hoping you would have seen this as you're one of the few people that I know live in Manchester and I would have asked you but I don't have you on Steam/Origin or anything. Will have to rectify that.

Which one did you end up in out of curiosity?

I went to Kendal a few weeks ago and the choice of restaurants seemed a little sparse!

Went to Paulo Gianni's. 21a Stramongate, Kendal.
It was your run of the mill Itailan really, nothing special but the food was good, was good value and the staff were attentive.
I wouldn't rush back, but if I was in the area and wanted an Italian then I'd go back.
