All over.
Anyone know of any nice, cheap restaurants (which is affordable to students) in Nottingham city centre or anywhere easily accessible from Lenton?

Cheers.

We're not that cheap. Somewhere like a family restaurant, or something. Like TGI's. Their two course meal for £13 was good but My friend just had his bday meal there, and I don't want to copy lol.

Flaming Dragon at the Cornerhouse for a good Chinese buffet meal. Think it costs about £12.50 a head, but there's a decent selection of food available.

If you want Indian food, the place near the Gala Casino is good, I think it's called 5634 Miles To Delhi, the food there is awesome.
Avoid Chutneys though. Crap food, crap service, and stupid prices to go with it

My mate said chutneys is good

I went there with some friends for a birthday meal towards the beginning of December and I thought it was terrible. The food was overpriced, and everybody I was with complained that everything tasted the same (we had about 10 dishes on the table).

The service was well below par, the waiters started having a massive argument near my table, then started giving us all attitude when some of us couldn't decide what to order. We could hear them arguing in the kitchen during our meal which wasn't very nice.

I went to that 4550 Miles To Delhi restaurant earlier this month, and it was actually some of the best Indian food I've had from a proper restaurant in a long while. Prices weren't too bad, you could get a banquet style menu for just under £20 a head, and they would refill any dishes that were running out.

Hmm... Frankie & Bennies, Nando's and Ciquitos (iirc) are just over the road next to showcase cinemas...

American Bar and Diner was pretty good when i last went [ideal for a birthday] which is the other way at the retail park.

Apart from that your only options are mcdonalds, pizza hut or harry ramsdens :p

Theres a place in Notts called Sausage. Ive never been but apparently its (surprisingly) sausage based nearly everything.

They do a 3 foot long sausage too

Parker's Cafe ;)

How about Ocean City (oriental) or whatever it's called near Canning Circus/ The Ropewalk or the Italian place on the same street.

That's disappointing, I used to go to Chutneys a lot when I was working down there and was never less than impressed. Maybe you just got a bad night.

4550 Miles I thought was OK, first time I went was good but the second they'd just won the Nottingham restaurant award so it was busy and the boss guy kept trying to tell the waiters what to do. Service as a result was poor...

I'm trying to think of places I've been that are kind of student budget (which I assume is less than £25 a night expenses). Kinda rules out Opium, Petit Paris and the like.

La Tasca in the Lace Market is always good if there's a crowd of you.

EDIT: How easy is it to get to Beeston from Lenton? The Victoria Hotel next to Beeston station does good food, it's a step up from your usual pub fare but very reasonably priced.

That's exactly where I was going to suggest, however wasn't sure if they wanted somewhere in/close to town. Very nice food, had my Christmas meal there - nice selection of whiskies as well :D
