anyone know of a free Download Manager? was using DAP for a bit but it intergrates itself with IE. dont get me wrong DAP is good but im looking for something else, less memory resources - i found DAP ate a good bit of my memory.

do all DL managers store partially downloaded files so i can continue downloading at a later date?

not too keen on that either, would rather use ie6/7
Ah. Had a Firefox suggestion but I hardly use IE except for Windows Updates so I've no idea about download managers for IE.

Edit - Course you could use Thunderbird. It isn't a download manager per se but a bit of tweaking and it could rock. ;)

Marc, what's your Firefox suggestion, just for the rest of us? :)

GetRight is usually pretty good, but I've had a few odd problems with it lately so I'm looking for something new.

Well either Free Download Manager as I said before teamed up with Flashgot for Firefox which will send any downloads to Free Download Manager. This is what I use. Recently I succeeded in achieving a long-standing aim of disabling Free Download Manager from monitoring IE and now it only works on FF.

Or my other suggestion was DownloadThemAll.

Download manager not browser ;) I think I know what you mean though. I did try Opera earlier this year but just couldn't get to grips. I was downloading some rFactor updates via Opera. I wanted to change the settings for torrents but I couldn't until I restarted Opera or added a new torrent or something silly like that.

FlashGet's good (and if you're using Fx use the FlashGot extension with it).

Free Download Manager seems similar in terms of looks, but I've never used it, so can't judge.
