a couple of days ago I picked up Eragon for some easy achievements and didn't expect anything special. I've been playing it and gameplay is very average but one thing I will give it is the music in the game is wonderful.

I often come across wonderful little unexpected things while Gamerscore whoring. Anyone here got any unexpected surprises they'd like to mention?
 
need for speed MW was the first game i got with my 360

once i completed it i got perfect dark and wondered why i wasnt getting 1000 gamerpoints in a week

then i realised that n4s was hugley unbalanced with the cheevos

i have to say - i have played some daft games like tmnt and avatar

tmnt was because i have played every turtles game since the one i had on the master system

avatar because my mate worked at gamestation and borrowed it
i wanted to see what it was like

i didnt think it was a bad game - like you said - the sound stood out [for the most part - if you ignore the voice acting] just a shame about the rubbish achievements
 
I stopped doing the whole cheap games for cheap points thing a while ago but have to admit I did for the most part enjoy Shrek, King Kong, Open Season and TMNT. Like you say most of these games do have redeeming qualities and for the most part make a fun relaxed little diversion from any main gaming pursuit. I never stopped as low as Avatar though...

Same here :) Also enjoyed Spiderman: Friend or Foe for the same reason, not at all challenging but quite entertaining and relaxing for an afternoon. Reminded me of all the side scrolling fighters of old :D

Ahh! If there was a My Little Pony game would you sink to a new level and buy that for achievements?

Lol. I found that when I rented games I'd get very single minded; I had Viking out and had just put it on when my daughter one evening after tea said 'daddy, can we played mario galaxy?' and i started telling her how I 'needed' to finish Viking first. 10 minutes later I had a reality check and put on Mario and we played together. I subsequently sent Viking back, cancelled my subscription and now only buy a few games I'll play on my own more limited time (I'll still whore them though).

... though even if I had lots more time I doubt I'd touch Jumper.... ;)
 
Thinking about it I'm glad I didn't buy the 360 as soon has it came out. Now I'm able to buy four games for forty pounds instead of one and you know what that means 4000 achievement points instead of 1000 Yay. :) I bought my 360 in April and already have over 10000 gamerscore and I don't even have Avatar. :D

I need to go to a Achievements anonymous.

When I'm an old man and drawing my pension I'll be buying games with it. lol I'll likely playing a lot more RPGs by then because my reaction times will have all gone to hell.

Think that must be the first time I've ever been accused of being a fanboy :D
It just didn't seem funny to me, instead being a comment that often comes up in similar threads causing problems. Nm though, maybe I did just miss the 'joke' :)
