I bought the Gigabyte 5870 back at the beginning of October, I chose it over the others as it had a 3 year warranty and the ASUS model was out of stock.

Unfortunately it didn't come with a Dirt 2 serial, which many of the cheaper competitors bundled in with theirs. I wasn't too fussed, but after playing the demo I really wanted it! Well then I noticed the Gigabyte 5970 DID come with a copy of Dirt 2, so I decided to email them explaining my point. Albeit a week later, they did reply, asked me to send proof of purchase and the card's serial number. Sent them both today, got a reply back just now asking for my address and stating they would sent me a copy out.

So thank you very much Gigabyte. Just goes to show what a polite message can bring. In all honesty I wasn't expecting much more than a sorry, blah blah etc, but all credit to them!

There you go, if anyone else has a Gigabyte 5000 series card, its worth a pop :D

never say never eh.

i'm curious how polite was this message :p

Question :
My 5870 didn't come with a Dirt 2 key.
Quite disappointing really after spending over £300 on it,
small bundled gifts really make the difference and many
cheaper competitors are bundling the game with the 5000 series cards.

Regards,
Peter Houghton

I wouldn't have bothered really, it was purely because I saw the 5970 came with it, therefore I knew they would have a load of keys knocking about!

Sorry offtopic

I emailed sapphire about my cards not coming with Dirt 2 when all the reviews said that they did, and they didnt offer anything.

Lets just say I'll never be buying anymore sapphire cards, I thought they were meant to be good, but the two different SKU number parts on their 5770s was major annoying.

OCUK gave me a dirt 2 code, so Im glad that I bought them from here.

Ive just always bought whichever ones were the cheapest, but I'll know to read up on bundled items and software next time, although I did do this for the sapphires, they made two seperate SKU numbers for the 5770.

Complaining to them was just terrible, they accepted no fault at all and blamed the retailer and me for not knowing about 'lite' and 'retail' packaging that they do.
