Nice step up ?

I got someone who ones to update there card from a 8800GTS 512 to an ati card. They only want to spend £80 max.

So i found this HIS ATI Radeon HD 4850 iCooler IV 1024MB

Would you say this would be a bigger step for games like dirt2 ?
And what kind of clocks would they get out of it.

Or not worth it ?

It would only be a tiny step up and you'd be looking at around 5%~10% increase in performance at most.

If I were you, I'd go for a 5770 1GB for around £120, and sell the 8800GTS to get back £30-£40 may be.

Yeah I agree, the 4850 is old school now. The 5770 is streets ahead and well worth the difference.

I also +1 to that as the 5770 is the better card, newer tech, low power, good performance.

Or go a bit cheaper with the 5750 which is good as well
