Nice things to do around Formby?

We are going here for valentines day http://www.formbyhallgolfresort.co.uk/

I was wondering if anyone knew of things to do or places to visit?

I know there is the beach as we go there occasionally so was looking for something new.

Any ideas anyone?

Play golf?

My boyfriend plays golf, but mini golf, played badly, is my limit!

Could visit the next beach up.....Freshfields...more sandhills...oh yeah, they also have a squirral ridden forrest too. Last time we visited that area there was warning signs on the way in regarding swarms of ladybirds!! (I kid you not)...& yes they were piled high in the incoming waves etc..(& I was bit to **** in the water by sand fleas!....anyway....To the north you have Southport with it's funfair & yet another crazy golf area, to the south you have Liverpool complete with tourist attractions & scousers with permy hair etc. Apart from that, do a google search for formby/attractions etc...Enjoy your day
