Nice to see a return to the 70's music

Good band, Greta Van Fleet.

There were a couple of tracks on their EP which I really enjoyed; Highway Tune was the introduction, but I prefer Black Smoke Rising. Lead does a mean live version of Safari Song.

i found them a few months ago and thought they were pretty good, but decided not to guy the album because they sound so much like zep that i might as listen to the original instead!

I love Led Zep but couldn't make it through the video. Everything about them seems fake and simply doing an impression of LZ. Guitar sound, drum style, vocals (lol, vocals just a tad!). Couldn't abide by the faux-70s video style either. At least make your look modern and pretend you're not ripping off LZ  No power to them either, Royal Blood make more noise and they're just a duo.

EDIT: Searched YT and found this. lol at the starting vocals. Yeah, pull the other one  ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJg4OJxp-co

EDIT2: For an American singer he does a great British accent! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhbMbiYb5bg (25secs in) lol...

i mean, i do kind of like them, and if the bands they are copying didn't exist they would be great, but as it is they are more of a poor copy - they need to do something original to the sound, otherwise i might as well just listen to the much better old stuff.

I like them, surprising Richard Thompson cover on the album that I really enjoyed (Meet on the ledge). Whilst they sound the same as Led Zep, for the most part anyway, can't say I mind it. Love the range on the singer.

I was listening to the new White Denim album earlier. Now that's a band taking 70s (kinda) guitar music and doing something interesting with it. Highly recommend checking them out if you haven't already.

Just discovered Greta Van Fleet and am absolutely addicted to them. Love all of it and their new single Meeting the Master is epic.

Don't really understand the associated dislike for them because their debut sounds a lot like LZ...like....so what? LZ were great, and this is more of it, what's not to like.

I think their sound has definitely matured over the years too and they definitely have a recognised sound. Cracking band.

Anthem of the Peaceful Army is a really great album and can't wait for their new one to drop.

I liked the first album because it was a direct rip off of Led Zeppelin, every time I put it on I heard a new Zeppelin part but the second I wasn't much for because I couldn't hear much Zeppelin in it.
Here's hoping the new one goes back to Zeppelin.
A lot of dislike for GVF is because they denied all knowledge of being influenced by Zeppelin but you can go back to when they were 15 performing 3x Zep classics in High School.
