Hopefully it's a well utilised engine in the future with easy-to-make maps and such. If each game built on that engine takes so much work due to the polygon count, it's going to be a long wait for each blockbuster game made using UE3.0.
Personally, I'm glad it's 2006 by the time it's released too - gives me chance to save for a 512MB-1GB graphics card
