ok we have all these makers of speakers vying for our buisness

lets be honest hw many people have their 360 connected to their pc monitor aswell but just use their 2.1 speakers

i know you need a built in decoder but surely you would think someone would come up with a 5.1 set with a optical and pc input with a nice volume control and switcing attatchment for a decent price maybe 70-90 quid

i know you are gonna say you can get the logitechs but they are very expensive and do we all have the space for a full amp and stuff around our comp if you are going to suggest a cheap home cinema

cmon speaker makers pull ya finger out lol

The Logitech's you have mentioned are AMAZING, I had a set delivered yesterday and I am truely amazed, I really didn't expect them to sound SO good.

Ok they do take up some space but can fit in a fairly smallish room with ease as I have managed as space in mine is something which is not on my side.

The price tag might be a little high for some but I believe you only get what you pay for, don't forget sound quality is dependant upon lots of things, mainly the quality of components being used, the design of the sub (which is a science in itself ensuring the porting and volume of the enclosure is correct to produce excellent results, even more so when THX is involved) research that has been done by the company to get the design, audio processing and the rest of the important areas....it all mounts up.

There are 2 routes for you to choose, cheap optical amp and speakers (the seperates route which will still consume space as the essence of 5.1 is 5 small satellite speakers and a sub so it will still require some room) or the all on one solution such as the Logitech's which will also require some room.

In terms of speakers also size = sound quality in most cases unless money is truely no object so that is something you need to keep in mind.

Creative did one a good few years back - the 5500Ds. Retailed at about £100. Not the most amazing speakers in the world but solid enough. Surprised I haven't seen anything like it recently (ignoring the already mentioned Logitechs)
