Niche

So I was watching a programme on TV and the above word was used, however the person pronounced it "nitch", I thought it didn't sound right and thought it should be pronounced "neesh". Is there any correct way of pronouncing this word?

My question is simple,do the people of OcUK pronounce it "nitch" or "neesh"?

Were they American? According the the ever reliable Urban Dictionary 'nitch' is a US pronunciation of niche.

It was an American, but I have heard some American's pronounce it "neesh".
