NICs last to load on startup

I have Win XP SP2. Whe I start windows everything loads up fine but the local LAN NIC is the last thing to load.

I can login and open the browser but it will sit their for another minute or so until the NIC card loads. It is always the last thing to show in the SYS tray. Anyone got any ideas?

Don't worry guys. found the problem. VMWare drivers.....

Try another PC slot, or remove the card and reinsert, or try different drivers for the NIC.

Or......

Open device manager, right click, uninstall, right click the PC name and click scan for hardware changes, it should reinstall the existing drivers and this may help to.

EDIT: NVM, just see you fixed it....

Usually caused by some other network adapter that is having problems getting a DHCP lease. VMware sounds like a likely culprit if you haven't set up its networking bits and bobs correctly.
