Hey looking to get a system up and running over the next few days and want to know which little freeware appz I should run or have when installed. For example the list I know of is below

-CPUZ
-SuperPI
-Samurise
-3DMark06 and 05?
-HD Tach?

What else would you recommend, what am I missing? cheers

PS May try folding ;)

No photo editing, media appz or mainstream appz. Just stuff you would need to test bits of hardware or their elements. Any tweaking stuff aswell

I included Samurise cos I have seen it used in the desktop thread and think it's neat and have a small LED thing that can make use of it.

I'll add 7zip to the list and check out picasa.

EDIT: Just remembered another one and that is SpeedFan

Um, not really something you run from within Windows, but it's handy to check if your RAM is running OK.... Memtest86

Have used the cd iso to test and find faults with some servers at work recently.

Sounds familiar, think I read it somewhere but couldn't remember the name. Cheers, I'll do that too.
