Night Shots

So there's me, lastnight, stood in a field of corn (wet corn) up to my neck, sipping on coffee. For two hours.

I was trying to take photos of the night sky, the moon behind some clouds with some star trails above. Never really nailed it, though - and the cloud moved across the whole sky, meaning I had to call it a night.

Here's the best I managed :

After the cloud moved across everything, I realised that the sky and ground had similar levels of lighting - so I decided to try something with an illuminated foreground :

I'm not a big fan of either, but both were interesting experiments. Need to take more coffee with me next time, though.

First was the best I got for star trails - I did a 15 minute one after it, but cloud came across filling the frame, ruining it :(
