Any suggestions?

I'm not averse to using a permanently switched on camera so motion sensing is not a priority, but I'm thinking to get one I can use outside for wildlife once I've identified what the heck is in the loft.

And no, it's not a mouse. I'm thinking squirrel or bird, but it's not leaving any trace.

TIA.

Have you got mains power in the loft?

Quick and simple solution would be a Blink camera from Amazon - mains powered or battery operated versions available. If it goes off then you know it's picked up motion, and you'll be able to see it on your phone remotely.

There is mains available but I'd prefer a battery powered one for the flexibility. I'll give the Blink camera's a look. Cheers!
